Product Description

Chattanooga’s Radial Pressure Wave technology is now mobile. The Mobile RPW is compact and light enough to be easily carried while also delivering a host of features and benefits.

When the need for a powerful yet portable Radial Pressure Wave device is called upon within a clinic or the athletic sports field, the Chattanooga Mobile RPW is the ideal choice. Its lightweight and compact design, together with its quiet, the built-in compressor makes it perfect for portable use. User friendliness is at the heart of the Mobile RPW’s design. The simple, ergonomically laid out controls enable all of the key parameters to be easily changed, while an illuminated LED display clearly indicates pressure, frequency and number of pulses. Initiation of the pulses is via a trigger mechanism on the handpiece

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment; the probe is applied directly to the skin over the affected area. Due to the local sensation of slight discomfort and vibrations from the compressor, most patients are lightly sedated to minimise distress and for operator/equipment safety reasons. The treatment works in two ways; desensitisation of local nerve ends provides effective and quite prompt pain relief and reduction in muscle spasms, while also stimulating tissue healing by promoting blood flow to the affected area.

This Radial Pressure Wave clinical unit is ideally suited to the following applications:- Orthopaedics / Rheumatology / Physical Medicine / Physiotherapy / Sport Clubs / Acupuncture / Aesthetic / Veterinary / Podiatrists / Chiropractors. Applications include, but are not limited to Plantar fasciitis, Heel spurs, Achillodynia, Hip trochanteric pathology, Jumper’s Knee, Shin Splints,  Humeral epicondylitis, Soft tissue activation, Cellulite reduction

The primary indications for its use in the equine population include:

  • Primary back injuries: These include muscle and ligament strains and sprains, kissing spines (impinging dorsal spinous processes) and sacroiliac injuries.
  • Back pain/muscle spasm secondary to primary lameness.
  • Ligament injuries: The suspensory ligament is the most frequently injured and treated ligament, particularly injuries involving the top portion of the ligament where it attaches to the cannon bone just below the knee and hock (proximal suspensory desmitis). Forelimb suspensory ligaments and to a lesser extent hindlimb injuries can respond well to treatment. We have also successfully treated damaged check ligaments, annular ligaments, patellar ligaments (stifle) and collateral joint ligaments (mainly pastern and coffin joints).
  • Tendon injuries: Injuries to the lower leg, primarily involving the superficial and deep digital flexor tendons are treated with shockwave therapy in a similar manner to ligament injuries. Improved quality of healing in terms of the ultrasonographic appearance of the tendons can be seen, although a prolonged period of graduated exercise is still essential to minimise the risk of recurrence.
