What is Vessel Sealing?

Vessel Sealing technology combines energy and the pressure delivered by the hand-piece when it is closed and activated. The walls of the vessel touch at the pressure point and the collagen and elastin in the vessel wall meld together creating a seal.

Generator output and waveform is very different from that of Bipolar. It is technically challenging and expensive to produce a generator that will work at a low impedance which is what is needed with vessel sealing when the vessel is clamped. Until recently it has been difficult to purchase a quality vessel sealer with autoclave-able hand-pieces at a sensible price.

Advantages of Shalya Vessel Sealing

• Alarms if you are not holding tissue properly, eg if the tissue is too thick or thin, or tips are short (not got all the tissue)
• Safety cut-out – blood/saline/clips are all detected and the unit STOPS

Can the Vista VE be used with solid plates? Yes, you can use solid plate both single & dual area with Vista VE.

Can we use pre-gelled disposable solid plates? Yes, you can use pre-gelled disposable plates but you must ensure that the body part is neatly shaved before using a solid plate.

What settings are commonly used? ESU – 15W bipolar, 25W cut-coagulation and 40W cut are commonly used settings on a good generator. SEALING – Use level 2 optimised programme – cut 50W and coag 25W on both VesSeal and Vista VE
